Becoming a Member of SLA
All students are allowed to participate in SLA events; however, in order to be considered an official student member of SLA, you must be a member of the national organization.
Student membership costs $35 per year and includes a subscription to the official SLA journal, Information Outlook, affiliation with the Louisiana/Southern Mississippi Chapter, and the choice to participate in one of over twenty subject-specific divisions of SLA.

Becoming a Member of ASIS&T
Joining ASIS&T will help you to better learn about developments across the entire scope of the information science discipline, advance your work to the next level, locate researchers, developers, consultants or end users among the membership, and contribute to the development of policies and standards that affect your and your field.
Student membership costs $40 per year and includes a subscription to the Bulletin, the ASIS&T news magazine, as well as the online version of the Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology. Student members also have access to JobLine and participation in the ASIS&T Placement Service, career resources. Student members can also access the online membership directory, vote and hold office in ASIS&T, and receive discounts on registration fees for ASIS&T conferences and publications.
