Summer with SLA
The summer has already kicked off with several activities, both for the LSU student chapter, and for the national chapter of SLA.
The national chapter of SLA held its Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. on June 14-17, 2009. To those of you who didn't get to attend this year's
Annual Conference, the SLA is planning to hold its next Annual Conference closer to home! The 2010 SLA Annual Conference is scheduled to be held in
New Orleans from June 13-16, 2010. For more information, select the above link for the Special Libraries Association.
The LSU chapters of SLA and SAA recently completed a tour of The National World War II Museum in New Orleans. We with LSU-SLA and LSU-SAA extend our thanks to Louise Hilton for organizing the trip.

We with the LSU SLA would like to express our thanks to Lindsey and Kimberly for taking time from their day off to provide the SLA student members with a tour of The National World War II Museum. Lindsey and Kimberly are also SLIS graduates, and will gladly take any questions from current SLIS students wishing to complete a field experience at the museum. A final note of congratulations to our SLIS students who have completed their Comps for the summer semester. We wish you the best as you move forward with your career goals.
