About SAA

The Society of American Archivists (SAA) is the premiere national professional organizations of archivists in the United States, with members in all areas of archival management. The Society was founded in 1936 to serve the needs of archival information professionals.

Joining SAA as a student member is cheap, only $40. With this membership you get the benefits of discounts at the annual conference and various workshop and other continuing education opportunities offered throughout the year all over the U.S. You receive a year’s worth of issues of The American Archivist, the journal of the society, and the quarterly newsletter Archival Outlook. You receive discounts on SAA published books (and there are many of them!), some of which are used as course materials in the archives management classes at LSU. In a nutshell, by joining SAA, you start your professional career in a professional way.

To Join SAA, please visit their website at www.archives.org and fill out the form online or print and mail.
