Melanie Counce and Lee Leumas of the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge Archives and board members of the Louisiana Archives & Manuscripts Association (LAMA) helped provide refreshments at the SAA Workshop "Building Digital Collections" held in Baton Rouge on April 12. Twenty-five archivists attended from seven states.

Welcome!

We welcome you to the Society of American Archivists Student Chapter at Louisiana State University. Our mission is to:

  • Provide activities for members to discuss archival issues, interact with professional archivists, and engage in professional activities.
  • Promote communication with other student groups at the University and student chapters at other universities, in order to develop mutual interest in the library and archival professions.
  • Acquaint members with the objectives, ethics, and publications of the Society of American Archivists.
  • Advocate the further development of archival studies among students and academic departments at LSU.
